When I think of a what a Mother is, or as we say in the South, “Mama”because it just sounds a wee bit more loving or adoring or something.
When I think of a mama, I think of:
•Loving
•Kind
•Patient
•Graceful
•Courageous
•Genuine
•Warrior
•Proverbs 31
And there’s so many more words I could think of to describe all the hero mamas in my life. Now as a mama myself, I know that we all have days that we feel the exact opposite of what I just described, but don’t allow the enemy to plant seeds of untruth in your mind. The Truth is, feelings come and go, but God’s Word and His promises will always stand!
You are all of those and so much more, the Lord has created you for your children. He will enable you, empower you and help you in every minute of every season of life. He, the Lord, your Heavenly Father cares about you❤️
As I was meditating on the beauty and calling of motherhood, three words came to my mind and I think, together they sum up Motherhood so beautifully.
•Beautiful
•Sanctifying
•Satisfying
{Beautiful}
God has chosen you to be the mama of your precious children. He has gifted you with Strength, Courage, Love and every possible thing that you need to nurture them. Despite our shortcomings and hard times, God still redeems, restores, and heals our bodies, our relationships and our children. Whether your children are Biological or adopted, God knew before the world was ever created, that you were to be the Mama to your precious children. That’s beautiful❤️
{Sanctifying}
Our lives are in constant states of change, and there are moments that just feel so chaotic and things come out of us, that just really shock us, and often, our precious children are the ones to remind us and bring us back to earth to realize that what matters most is that they are loved and their hearts are taken care of. On the hardest of days when you just want to have just one moment of silence, yet, “ Mama, mama” is the sound that reaches your ear. Moments such as these are to draw us closer to God and realize that we are in constant need of Him! Just as our children, constantly need us, so we must become like little children and admit our need of our Heavenly Father. That’s sanctifying❤️
{Satisfying}
That big delicious meal you cooked for your family, and the smiles and words of gratitude that did or didn’t appear or were or were not heard. You were serving them, you’re being Jesus to them.
Or maybe it’s the teaching/training you have been doing and you wonder if your hard labor will ever show fruits, and then one day you realize your child got it, they understand what you meant and they are applying it. Oh what a blessing that is and That’s satisfying❤️
So however you spend this Mother’s Day weekend, I hope you get celebrated and loved well. In my opinion you’re a hero, a person chosen by God to nurture and train the precious souls in your care.
On the hardest of days, it’s still Beautiful, Sanctifying and Satisfying, because God loves you and He cares for you.
